Elizabeth Vaughan, viola
Elizabeth Vaughan is a pianist, violist, and singer from Highland Park, Illinois. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at UW-Madison under the tutelage of Christopher Taylor. Elizabeth received a master's degree in viola performance from Roosevelt University, where she served as the principal violist for the duration of her studies. She has also served in both principal and assistant principal roles with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, Lawrence University Baroque Ensemble, and the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. She has performed in master classes and coachings with Heidi Christianson and the Arianna String Quartet. She has performed with orchestras such as the New Philharmonic, Park Ridge Civic and the Quad Cities Symphony. Elizabeth will solo with the UW-Madison Symphony as a pianist, performing Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto in the fall of 2023. She and her husband, cellist Warren Oja, maintain a private teaching studio in Highland Park.
